Intuit debuts QuickBooks web app for iPhone

Posted Mon, Aug 25, 2008 1:00 PM by AppleInsider Staff
Intuit announced Monday that versions of its QuickBooks web application for the iPhone and RIM's BlackBerry handsets are now available for public testing.

Available on IntuitLabs.com, both the iPhone and BlackBerry applications are described as early "concept releases," where customers are encouraged to contribute to the ongoing development process by providing feedback.

"A growing number of small businesses are looking to mobile technology to run their business," said Rick Jensen, senior vice president of Intuit's Small Business Division. "Our goal with these new mobile services is to give QuickBooks Online users the edge they need to compete and manage their busy lives by keeping tabs on their business even when they are out of the office."

Both applications allow users to check current bank and credit card balances, track who owes them money, and run balance sheet and profit and loss reports. The apps also aid in finding vendor and customer contact info with addresses via Google Maps.
