"Calm down and carry on" is Team Boxee's response to fears that the recent AppleTV 2.3.1
software update might have torpedoed the open-source media software.
"Boxee users simply need to re-apply the
patchstick to add the menu item back," said a spokesman. "Additionally boxee software and data persists so after the patchstick has [been] applied, user logins, media sources, preferences, etc. will be just as they were before the upgrade."
Boxee is intended to
fill the gaps in community, video formats and Internet streams that Apple has chosen not to address in its own AppleTV. The device's sales
increased threefold last year.
