Amazon, others offer $50-$100 off Apple's new MacBook lines

A couple of Apple authorized online retailers are now reflecting immediate availability of the company's new MacBook and MacBook Pro systems, offering savings between $50 and $100 after rebates in addition to other buying incentives.

13-inch MacBooks

Amazon is offering $50 rebates on both the white 2.1GHz MacBook as well as the 2.0GHz and 2.4GHz aluminum unibody models introduced earlier this month. The final price of the systems after the rebate and the retailer's standard discount are as follows:

13-inch MacBook 2.1GHz (white): $944.00

13-inch MacBook 2.0GHz (unibody): $1244.00

13-inch MacBook 2.4GHz (unibody): $1544.00

MacMall is offering identical rebates on the new 13-inch MacBooks, but also offers associated rebates for a free copy of Parallels Desktop 3.0, free Epson Stylus Printer, free Intego Antivirus, and free carrying case. The retailer is also selling white 2.1GHz MacBooks manufactured before October for $868.99. The final price of the systems after rebates follow:

13-inch MacBook 2.1GHz (white, pre-October): $868.99

13-inch MacBook 2.1GHz (white): $944.00

13-inch MacBook 2.0GHz (unibody): $1,244.00

13-inch MacBook 2.4GHz (unibody): $1,544.00

15-inch MacBook Pros

Amazon is offering $100 rebates on both standard configurations of the new MacBook Pro. The final price of the systems after the rebate and the retailer's standard discount are as follows:

15-inch MacBook Pro 2.4GHz (unibody): $1864.97

15-inch MacBook Pro 2.53GHz (unibody): $2394.00

Again, MacMall is promoting identical rebates, in addition to the aforementioned rebates that cancel out the cost of Parallels Desktop 3.0, an Epson Stylus Printer, Intego Antivirus, and a carrying case. The final price of the systems after rebates follow:

15-inch MacBook Pro 2.4GHz (unibody): $1,868.97

15-inch MacBook Pro 2.53GHz (unibody): $2,394.00

MacBook Airs & 17-inch MacBook Pros

Amazon is also taking pre-orders for Apple's new 13-inch MacBook Air alongside $50 rebates, which reduces the cost of the 1.6GHz model to $1744.00 and the 1.86GHz model to $2444.00

MacMall offers the same rebates, for final costs identical Amazon's. The online reseller is also offering a $100 rebate on the refreshed 17-inch MacBook Pro, bringing its cost down to $2694.00.

Due to complications reported in the past by some customers in obtaining their MacMall rebates, readers should follow the instructions printed on the rebate forms precisely, file the rebates in a timely manner as required by the promotion, mail the forms via certified mail with return receipt, and make copies of all documentation prior to submission.
